Anthropologie: A Blessing and a Curse

I both love and hate the store Anthropologie. I love it because I LOVE pretty much all their stuff. From the sweaters, pants, skirts to their bedding, doorknobs and books they have the coolest, most beautiful stuff. I however also hate this store because it is so stinking expensive and I can't afford to buy anything from it. Thus began my coveting of the stuff at this store. Now for all you kids at home, coveting is bad, it almost always leads to an indiscretion.

My indiscretion came a few weeks ago when I visited the store which is located in the gateway mall. This was only my second time in the store. My usual Anthropologie coveting takes place on line, which is a much safer way to covet since it's not as tangible and beautiful as it would be right in front of you.

After spending an hour in the store and pouring over everything little thing, I made my way to the clearance section which is better known as the "danger zone." Sparing you the gory details, I ended up trying on and thus convincing myself that it was time for me to finally own something from Anthropologie. So I left the store with not one but two clothing items.
I bought a hand embroidered shirt that was originally, brace yourself, $98, I purchased it for $48. I also got a cream sweater jacket that was $88, for $45. So yes in the end I spent $100 on two items of clothing!

In the end I am happy with purchases, but part of me feels slightly ridiculous when I think about the amount of money I spent on two things even if they were super on sale. Damn Anthropologie and their stupid sales... and my inability to resist!

I think that everyone has a store like that. Mine used to be Banana Republic - that was back when I could still fit into their stuff.
