Keens and Chacos

I finally purchased my very own pair of Keens recently, and I have to say that I got an awesome deal...$32.50. (they are usually 95.00) It's pretty super having small feet and an REI membership. I've been wearing them around and I love them! I also have a pair of Chacos, that I've been sporting for over 2 years now, and they have been my very favorite pair of shoes during this time.

It has been suggested to me many times during my Chaco wearing days that Keens are far superior to my chacos. I have never had anything against Keens, and always wanted a pair and now since i own both pairs of shoes now I can have a truly educated opinion.

The truth is that I love both of these shoes...i couldn't choose a favorite and lets face it they are two completely different shoes, with different purposes. Both are excellent outdoor shoes, and you can hike in either but Chaoc's are more like sandles and keens are more like shoes. When walking in sand on a beach, Chaco's win. When hiking the Narrows...Keens win.

So I conclude that having both is the best way to go.In the end though I have to admit that I have loved my Chaco's, they have been everywhere with me, I don't think their place in my heart will be replaced any time soon.

My comment from your old blog tells such a funny story....I just want to repost the same post:
Hey Sister....
Remember how you posed for the picture in this blog wearing a different shoe on each foot? Remember how you forgot to swap them out and wore them both all night? Remember how you didn't realize that till we had already been out shopping in the mall for about an hour? And by the way...Keens are so much more versatile....but I still LOVE YOU!!!

Hey Cricket

This is me ed, not colby like it says, i don't really want to set up a new account with my name, so hopefully this is okay. I have to say that i have been coveting keen's for the LONGEST time. they look so COOL! i too am a chaco owner and you are so right you do form a bond with them, they can go everywhere! I would love to get some Keens for 30 bucks.. wow what a deal! I will have to start watching REI closer, as i have small feet too! Here i was thinking i was not normal to be unsatisfied with my expensive) chacos, (when there are children who don't even have shoes) and to want more! but now that i know that there are other people like myself in the world.. well to heck with the budget! eh!
Anyways it was fun to read your blog.

Ed, you should try the kids sizes, that's what I did. They are the same shoe at half price! ..about $47 and then I used my membership and got %20 off, making them 32. My normal shoe size is 6-6 1/2 and so I wear a 4 in kids sizes. i LOVE them.

I have to admit that I'm still a Teva flip flop girl. I hardly wear anything else even at work.

And curse both you and Ed for having small feet. There's no way to get a good deal when you wear the most common size out there.
